Try DVD Tools (PC Tools) magazine…. Issue 47. It is sold at bookstores, Walmart, etc. It comes with a DVD disc …it has on it freeware and shareware programs that you install on your computer from the DVD disc that comes with it. It should come wrapped in the clear packet with a DVD enclosed in it.
I purchased it about two weeks ago and there are a few programs that I wanted to look at – unfortunately – I should have bought the magazine before I purchased a video conversion software and would have saved myself about thirty dollars from the look of it. But, …that is life.

But it seems that I am having problems – it looks like it is a european site based on the money symbol used.

Or try my favorite download site for freeware, open source, shareware, trial or demo software…www.filehippo.com…not a whole lot compared to some but they tell you up front if it is ad supported, demo, etc.

All of the “free” ones I download, from the internet or bittorrent, or whatever, are all trial versions that don’t actually work. And the whole doing it online, takes forever, and I left my computer with it on, came back and nothing happened.

I use imtoo mpeg encoder, works fine. You just have to “remove” the trial period.

Hello, this is lyfx, a pure on runescape. I have finally decided to go with the video making lifestyle! I have posted 3 runescape videos and 1 “audio” video. I posted the first one 9 hours ago. When I sign on to my account, the videos are on my page. If I try to search for any 1 of my videos, It says “no search results” etc. Also if I search for my channel in the “channel” search, it again says “no search results” etc. I have everything set on public so I know thats not the problem. What can I do so people can see my video/channel on the “search”. My account name is “lyfx” on youtube and runescape.

I’m afraid that you won’t get any good answers until you give the correct information. First, if it’s an mp3 player, it only plays MPEG layer-3 MUSIC FILES. Make sure it’s also a video player. Then try different popular formats, like NATIVELY MP4 files (that’s the standard mobile device video format). Then, try WMA, AVI, etc. Finally, if you want good answers, at least put the brand and model of your player.

I am trying to edit videos in movie maker and when it imports, there is no “video” – only audio. When researching, I found that I need to convert the video to wmv. Every video converter I download does not allow me to convert to WMV, unless I “upgrade” the version.
I have tried any video converter and it says I need to purchase it to convert to WMV and the Factory one (it says I can not do WMV) and the MPEG only convert 2/3rd of the video. What am I doing wrong then?

Hey there guys, I have a question for anyone that can answer it I have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W35 and I am really desperate to find out how to play a converted video from my computer back on my camera. I recorded so many videos on my camera and used Windows movie maker to edit it and after I was done making the video and saved it to my computer the format was in “WMV” and i converted it to “MPG” because on top of my camera it says “MPEGMOVIE VX” I don’t know what that means, and when I try putting it back in my camera and its in my camera but it says “No file in This folder” but its there taking up the memory space. Can someone please help me and tell me how I can view my video that i made on my computer onto my camera so that i can watch it on my TV because it came with a TV plug. Thank you so much!

It seems that ur cybershot only supports MPEG-1 VX, a Sony MPEG proprietary format, not standard mpeg.

You’ll have to check out a video converter to put your edited movie back to VX format for the file to play on ur cybershot. There are available converters from mpeg VX to AVI but rarely the other way around.

I’ve found a couple, but the installers are all .exe (PC, self executable) and I’d need a .dmg (disk image) to install (I have a G4 aluminum). I downloaded the iSkysoft Video Converter and while it did “convert” the .avi to 3gp, there was only sound, no picture, in the conversion. I downloaded Prism but can’t load a .avi file. I’d like to be able to watch the movies I have on my LG Voyager, but it seems to only play 3gp or .plt files. (No, LG Voyagaer software isn’t Mac compatible, but as a workaround you can load files directly to a memory card from the laptop/desktop and use the loaded memory card in the phone – I’ve tried this on random 3gp files and it works.)
